The Day of Kindness

I was so very surprised finding out that today (that is 21st day of November) is the Day of Kindness. As my nature is kinda perverse this is what first came to my mind today :

They found Mary Bellows cuffed tot he bed
With a rag in her mouth and a bullet in her head
O poor Mary Bellows
She'd grown up hungry, she'd grown up poor
So she left her home in Arkansas

She wanted to see the deep blue see
She drove across Tennessee

She met a man along the way
He introduced himself as Richard Slade

Poor Mary thought that she might die
When she saw the ocean for the first time

She checked into a cheap little place
Richard Slade carried in her old suitcase

'I'm a good girl, sir," she said to him
I couldn't possibly permit you in

Slade tipped his hat and winked his eye
And turned away without goodbye

She sat on her bed and thought of home
With the sea breeze whistling all alone

In hope and loneliness she crossed the floor
And undid the latch on the front door

They found her the next day cuffed to the bed
A rag in her mouth and a bullet in her head

So mothers keep your girls at home
Don't let them journey out alone
Tell them the world is full of danger
And to shun the company of strangers
O poor Mary Bellows
O poor Mary Bellows

THE EMPYREAN is due on Januray 20th 2009

Another exciting information from John Frusciante. As RHCP site officially states :

" Friends and Fans,
The Empyrean is my new record and will be released worldwide via Record Collection on January 20th 2009. It was recorded on and off between December 2006 and March 2008. It is a concept record that tells a single story both musically and lyrically. The story takes place within one person, and there are two characters. It contains a version of Tim Buckleys, 'Song To The Siren' and the rest of the songs are written by me. My friend Josh plays on it, as does Flea. It also features Sonus Quartet, Johnny Marr and The New Dimension Singers. I'm really happy with it and I've listened to it a lot for the psychedelic experience it provides. It should be played as loud as possible and it is suited to dark living rooms late at night.

- John Frusciante, November 3rd, 2008 "

And the 'The Empyrean' Track listing:

1. Before The Beginning
2. Song To The Siren
3. Unreachable
4. God
5. Dark/Light
6. Heaven
7. Enough Of Me
8. Central
9. One More Of Me
10. After The Ending

in the sweet arms of ignorance

...and when the eyes you turn to at night look at you throughout the day with the sense of admiration and respect you know that there is no other possible place you belong to but this very place and when the voice you hear all the time whispers to your ear 'i care' resonates even when silence reigns the surface of the earth you know you will wake up the next day and the only thing you will face is the ever present smile and glow of the dear ones...

... wake me up ...

Richard Wright (28 07 1943 - 15 09 2008)

How sad I am I cannot express. Another unique and irreplaceable musician has left us forever. Wonderful Richard Wright, keyboard player of my beloved group Pink Floyd. His music created with the group as well as His solo efforts has always been with me since Day One. His gentle sound and somehow minimalistic approach toward keyboard playing has always impressed me and touch the deepest layers of my soul. I'm so happy I could see Richard live two years ago during His concert with David Gilmour in Gdańsk. I literally cried like a baby when I've heard the live versions of classic Floyd tunes like "Breathe" or "Echoes" - songs I've grown up listening to and song which every note I know by heart. Thank you Rick for being the kind of person you were for all those years. I miss you already.

My thoughts on "The Dark Knight"

The Joker portrayed by late Heath Ledger (1979 - 2008)

So I went to the movies yesterday to see one of the most (if not the most) anticipated film of this summer, Christopher Nolan's sequel to his 2005's "Batman Begins" called "The Dark Knight". For weeks I've been hearing nothing but praise and good opinions about this movie and to be frank my expectations toward the movie were enormous. Apart from always amazing Nolan/Bale cooperation I was looking forward to see and experience the wonderful Heath Ledger's personification of The Joker. Sadly it's the penultimate performance of that brilliant actor (the last one, unfinished, being Terry Gilliam's 'The Imaginarium of Dr.Parnassus') but the one I'm certain he will be remember for by all of us. Ledger created The Joker from the scratch, Tim Burton's Joker (portrayed by Jack Nicholson) is nothing as sinister, evil and repulsive as the one played by late Heath Ledger. His performance eclipsed Batman himself and is the endless parade of unforgettable gestures, catchy phrases ('why so serious?') and tiny things like ongoing champs and tongue twisting that makes his personification of Joker the most incredible, haunting and memorable performance I've seen in cinema for ages.
